Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern-day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boom­box, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures, and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry. Continuing past the pawnshop, guests encounter a grand, circular staircase wrapped around a two-story custom chandelier, but only the adventurous will discover all that Beauty & Essex has to offer.     Kimmy was the best! I had friends coming from out of town and she was super patient in helping them choose what to eat with specific dietary restrictions they had. She also was attentive and friendly! Food was delicious and would definitely come again.

    One of the best experiences I’ve had in New York. Had to book pretty early in advance due to the Valentines Day weekend rush, but got a lovely early afternoon spot. The atmosphere was so elegant & classy. Our waitress Mary Alice was so kind, accommodating, and overall such a pleasure to interact with. Yes it is pricey, but the experience and the quality of the food/tea was well worth it.

    GET THERE EARLY FOR BRUNCH!!!!! if late, no almond croissant...just other baked goodies...we ate the wonderful baked eggs and the tuna tartare -- delicious and good sized portions. the small wine list is adequate for brunch.` `Our waiter Carlos is super professional, having worked in many multi-star restos.
