Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Garfield

Great food great service, but the restaurant was very crowded and music was too loud. This was on Valentine’s Day.

I almost hesitate to write this lest the restaurant become too crowded and popular, but Da Tommaso is my favorite theater district restaurant, and I don't understand why it's not always packed after a Saturday matinee or before showtime. The food is excellent -- a fairly traditional (though extensive) Italian menu, reasonably priced, always with interesting specials. The service is outstanding; the hostess/chief server (whom I presume is an owner) is always so warm and welcoming. There's no printed list of wines by the glass and no printed dessert list; she just tells you what's available, and this contributes the homey feel of the restaurant. Honestly, I love this place, and it has become my go-to restaurant when I'm in the area. (My wife and I brought friends last night, and they were equally impressed.)

Great breakfast food. Especially love the omelet with leeks and Gruyere. Excellent coffee. This was 4th or 5th time eating here. Always great.

We had a party of 8 in the private side room in the back. It was a great setting for a group - we could all hear each other and didn't feel that we were disrupting other tables. The food was also very good and the service was pleasant and smooth. Will come back!

Great food and great service. Make us feel like regulars whenever we come! Always enjoy the atmosphere ! Local bar vibe but attractive and comfortable.
