Set in a gorgeous Grade II-listed Georgian villa, the decor is bright and modern but respects the building’s elegance and heritage. The food, too, respects classical tradition, but is a contemporary take on British cuisine - combining influences from around the world in dishes based on fabulous impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients.Enjoy an aperitif in one of the elegant lounges in the older part of the building before moving on to the sleek restaurant with its blonde wood beams, exposed stone walls and bi-fold doors opening onto the garden. The knowledge and experience of Head Chef Luke Tipping shows through in the assured, confident nature of the cooking – and he has the skill to know when to hold back. Dishes are balanced and pure, with subtle modern touches and a pleasing clarity of flavour; be sure to try the signature tapenade bread rolls and delicious soufflés. Service is enthusiastic and brims with personality.

Itihaas restaurant in Birmingham is one stunning eaterie. This beautiful restaurant —the name means ‘history’ -- is the £2 million brainchild of businessman Raj Rana and it’s been raking in awards since it opened its doors. The décor is contemporary meets traditional with two dining rooms honouring colonial and maharaja eras – there are slate finished walls, original paintings, carved stone elephants, Jali marble window frames like those found in Mogul palaces and elegant black sari-clad hostesses. Chef Amardeep Saka offers intriguing dishes influenced by North India, Mumbai, Chinese fusion and Kenya. The cuisine and service are royal, yet the ambience is relaxed and informal – a history-making combination in anyone’s book.

We visited the Rolling Mill for the first time during a visit to Birmingham. As Brunch lovers, the menu was perfect - not too big and included all of our favourite items. Coffee and food was outstanding and service was great.

Perfection in Every Bite, but a Slight Imbalance I had an 8-course lunch here, and the attention to detail in every dish was truly exceptional. Be prepared to spend around two hours enjoying the full experience. I dined alone and was seated near the air conditioner, which unfortunately left me with neck pain for two days. Overall, my experience was fantastic—a solid 95 out of 100. I could clearly see the creativity, effort, and intricate processes behind each dish. However, I found the balance of protein, carbs, and fat a bit off. The wagyu tartare with mayonnaise didn’t quite make sense to me—wagyu is already rich in fat, and the mayo only added to that. The tiny crisps on top didn’t do much to counterbalance the heaviness. Additionally, the amuse-bouches were fried, and the tartlet also contained mayonnaise, making the overall menu feel a bit too heavy. Adjusting the fat-to-protein ratio could enhance the experience even further. That said, there were several outstanding dishes that I absolutely loved, especially the fish with miso—one of my personal favorites. The sorbets on the menu were also a highlight. I would definitely recommend this place! The staff was friendly and highly professional, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.

We have been here numerous times and is definitely one of our top places to go! However we took friends and was a little disappointed. Our friends ordered pork belly and was unavailable, also gluten free soya sauce as she has gluten intolerant was unavailable. The cocktail we ordered was unavailable as no wasabi for it! Also, no Saki wine in which we always have. Overall still beautiful food but disappointed with unavailability of items
