Two Italian guys in their twenties met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion; they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo, the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. By the end of that very same year, Veeno was born: a place where everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers. Our wines come from Caruso & Minini, our family vineyard back in Sicily where great-grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the XIX century. We booked this for a company meal and it wasn't quite the right vibe for it. It's better for a quick meal with a glass of wine and a chat, not so much a sit-down as it was noisy. But the staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful, the food was great as well. One of our party was dairy-intolerant, which we mentioned as we were greeted, but then that wasn't passed onto our server. So my colleague ended up with a big ball of mozzarella on her pizza. Mistakes do happen and we should've also mentioned it to the server. And once they realised the mistake, the staff were great about it, offered to make a new pizza, get us some extras and in general were very accommodating. So a lovely place, good food, good staff and nice vibe.
