Best Restaurants with a Fireplace in Richmond

The Tea at Floris @ the VMFA is just lovely. This was our second visit. We were greeted warmly and seated at our table for 4 near the fireplace. Because we visited close to Valentine's Day, we were offered a special Valentine's Day menu in addition to the regular tea menu. We stuck with the tea menu but added a glass of Cava. We were celebrating a birthday and they were kind enough to bring a piece of red velvet cake to help us celebrate. It was moist and delicious. Our tea started with a pot of Masala Chai and a pot of white tea (cherry blossom) followed by freshly made (still warm) scone and walnut cranberry bread. These were served with their homemade elderberry spread. So delicious!! Next came the tea service - savory sandwiches and a small piece of quiche which was so creamy and eggy - amazing. The sweets on the tray were beautiful to look at and tasty to eat particularly the cream puff. Our server was attentive and knew the menu well. We can't wait to go again.

We ate here for a birthday celebration and it was perfect. We were seated right away and had a great table. Our waitress was wonderful and the service was great. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and we enjoyed our wine selections very much. They brought bread to the table which was warm and wonderful. They have a large menu with a lot of great choices, along with nightly specials. We all loved the calamari appetizer which had a very light but flavorful breading and both sauces - red and white were excellent for dipping. My son had the pasta special and it was fabulous. My husband had a scallop dish and the scallops were large and there were many of them. I had a vodka penne pasta and added shrimp to it and again the shrimp were large and plentiful. My other son had pizza and loved it. They had desserts available, but we skipped dessert as we had a birthday cake waiting for us at home, and quite honestly we were all stuffed from our food. Three of the four of us left with leftovers which were enough for a second meal today. The bill was reasonable and we would recommend dining here and will return!

Myself and 2 girlfriends were out for Galantines. We had a great waiter and the food was exquisite. A special evening for all of us.

Staff was friendly and prompt, they went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. The rockfish and salmon entrees were perfectly cooked and the cocktails were phenomenal. The space was quiet and inviting, and never felt like we had to talk over the room ambience or other patrons. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The Ruth Chris Steak House in Midlothian is, in my opinion, one of the best in the chain. This is the third year in a row that we have gone to RCSH for Valentines Day dinner and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere including a wandering quartet and pianist playing dinner music to the meal and service is top notch. Our server was Brigitta and she is both professional and personable. The manager stopped by to check on us as he did to many tables which is a great way for them to check on any problems ahead of time. No complaints from us and we will be back.
