The Britannia is Richmonds leading independent restaurant and bar. Located in the centre of town and down a very pretty cobbled alleyway, we are next to historic Richmond Green and two minutes from the Waterside. We have two large outside spaces - A roof terrace for traditional dining and a garden that lends itself to drinks and lighter fare. The bar inside is cosy with the bustle of a busy space and the upstairs restaurant tables have white cloths and lamps for a more intimate feel.Serving Day Boat Fish and Chips to grilled Lobster, Vegan and Vegetarian dishes along with award winning Mackens of Chiswick Steaks, simply the finest food in the area. Our Wine list has more than a nod to the old world, showing not only the best of Burgundy and Bordeaux but also more eclectic boutique wines from Italy, Spain and even the USA.We pride ourselves on our cocktails. Vesper Martinis sit alongside Hemingway Daiquiris and a large selection of Spritz for the summer months.

This stylish but unpretentious restaurant on Gloucester Road is well known for its friendly staff and home-style Indian cooking. Situated close to the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park, it’s perfect for a post-shopping lunch or an early evening meal with friends. The chefs prepare familiar favourites like lamb pasanda and chicken jalfezi using authentic spices and traditional recipes so you can be sure they taste just as they would in India. Even though it was an early lunch (12:00) the room was warm and welcoming. The menus was very good and explained, including the specials. We opted for the crispy pork pieces as a shared starter and we were not disappointed, it was excellent. As mains my wife had the seafood risotto which she said was delicious. I opted for the sausages, mash and onions which was also very good. I had a pint of bitter which was very nice and perfectly presented. My wife had Prosecco which she enjoyed. In summary a very nice meal. We will certainly have a return visit when next in the area!

My new favourite place to go for dinner. We were early for our booking but we were greeted so warmly. Our table was waiting for us which was a real bonus at this time of year! White table cloths and napkins add an air of luxury. So rarely see these days. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. A couple of good vegetarian options too. Great house wines. Reasonably priced. The extra spicy bloody marys are to die for! Get yourselves booked in.

Food was great but when I booked I was given a choice of bar or restaurant but when we arrived we were put in the bar which was busy and noisy and cramped. I was told they sit people where they can depending on how busy they are. That's fine if you're aware.

On a busy ,at the same time, nondescript street in Kentish Town, almost unnoticed, sits a hidden gem, Parakeet Pub. The pub is charming itself when you step through the door but venture furter in and you'll be pleasantly surprised by a beautiful dining room at the far end of the pub Yes, you've ventured in off Kentish Town High street and discovered another world of fine dining, fabulous food and charming helpful staff. Highly recommended.
