Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. Like many I read the recent Washington Post review and was intrigued. We were going to a play at nearby Studio Theater and this really worked well. Wonderful experience! Loved the decor. The service was outstanding. It just felt very comfortable. Excellent draft beer choices and the food was great. I don’t think you can make a bad choice. Yes, the duck, and the Brussels sprouts. Dessert was great too. Can’t wait to try again.

Very good experience. The food was great and the service was slow enough to make us feel we were not being rushed, but sufficiently fast to keep us happy. The broccolini Caesar salad was excellent, as was the shrimp fettuccine and the Brazilian picana steak. We will definitely return.

The restaurant was willing to accommodate us on Sunday am even tho we did not want a full brunch. I felt the staff went above and beyond! And the scrambled eggs were real- not the poetry flat version so often served in restaurants

This was a great experience. From the time we walked in until we left the staff were considerably, attentive, and extremely nice. The energy is inviting. The open kitchen was a nice addition to the experience filling the room with warmth. The menu was clearly designed with deep thought and intention. Would highly recommended.
