Hakkasan Mayfair is renowned for its extensive and influential wine list, praised in multiple reviews. One patron noted, 'The service could have been more polished and attentive, it wasn't bad but not at the level of a Michelin star restaurant. An allergy menu would be helpful. Great wine list.' Another reviewer commended the 'great wine selection' and recommended the Spanish white wine. Clearly, the restaurant's wine offerings are a hit with customers.

Fergus Henderson’s original home of “Nose to Tail Eating” opened in a former smokehouse around the corner from Smithfield Market in 1994.Celebrating the finest of indigenous British produce and making the most of what is seasonally best whilst applying straight forward cooking techniques, St. John is now celebrated as one of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World and in 2009 was awarded its first Michelin Star.Nose to tail eating means that, where appropriate, every part of the animal should be put to good use in the kitchen and so along with Roast Beef and Lemon Sole, diners will find Rolled Pig’s Spleen, Kidneys and Ox Heart, Liver and Chitterlings as well as the Roast Bone Marrow & Parsley Salad, something of a ‘signature’ dish.

From the wonderfully winter-lit frontage, to the beautifully curated interior, in its very tastefully varied forms, you ask, can the food and service possibly hope to match this? Well, it most certainly does. Please don’t make the rash mistake I did, and worry the menu isn’t extensive enough. Also do not leave without at least looking at the huge bowl of chocolate mouse, and try to resist it when you do. Oh, and the duck and the onion soup, are off the clock. As are the dauphinois (starter AND side).

Excellent food. Don’t fill up too much on bread as if you have the cod wing starter it’s very generous and you may regret it. We followed with a sublime steak with crispy pink fir potatoes and yummy marmite hollandaise. Powered though despite being full and loved every mouthful!

It was perfect from start to finish. The food is flavourful, original yet classic and delicious. The restaurant is beautifully lighted, the noise is surprisingly low for such a wide space, and a special thank you to our waiter James who was lovely, gave us good advice and a special treat for my mum’s birthday. It’s a truly special place !

The Parakeet is a wonderful local, the room is buzzy and cool, the food excellent and staff great. This time, I had a guest with a number of food intolerances and our waiter and the chef annotated what would work and what can be altered. This resulted in a great meal for a difficult eater so thanks! We enjoyed the wine by the glass too as there was a wide range available. A great experience.
