Bastion is the 24-seat restaurant of James Beard Foundation Award Nominee Chef Josh Habiger. It is located in a separate area within the casual cocktail bar of the same name, and it is a part of the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood of Nashville, TN. Bastion's dining room features counter seating around the kitchen for parties of 2 as well as three tables for parties of 3 to 6. Bastion's small team serves a weekly set menu of six dinner courses featuring many dishes with a wide variety of flavors, ingredients, and inspirations.     Our server, Lisa G, was absolutely outstanding. Professional, helpful with menu selections, friendly and cheery made the evening a great outing. The food as usual was outstanding. We shared the pate appetizer which was a combination of wonderful flavors and had the venison and the salmon which were terrific. A Pavlova (great) and espresso closed a great evening. This is why (deliciously innovative dishes and great service) we return to Etch. over and over. Kudos to the team and highly recommended.

    Bastion is an almost perfect dining experience that starts with their caring and knowledgeable staff. Its dark, hip and casual decor and concept menu pairs nostalgia with modern cuisine and plating. We loved the progression of tastes, the smart wine service, and the personal delivery of each dish by the chefs.For me the array of desserts fell short as they seemed to get lost in their ideas and missed on satisfying tastes. You’ll find lots of interesting ingredients paired in delicious ways with their menu. We arrived way too early for our reserved table and enjoyed perfect and very personalized cocktails made by the personable bar master. She made an hour go by so pleasantly. The unique part of Bastion is the record player playlist that is part of their nostalgia and slow down vibe. We lucked out with a full play of one of our favorite Arcade Fire albums. We’ll be back and would recommend this place to friends.

    Great service and free parking in Nashville is a big win. Also Midtown location, a plus for local residents. Dumpling appetiser was delicious. I had an Alsace wine and my friend had a Moscow mule, both great. Sushi was presented beautifully and delicious. Will be going back.
