“In Syrian culture, we can’t make any journey without first planning the food. If you decide to go to the cinema, you plan what you’ll eat. If you plan to visit your mother, you know that you’re going to eat. There’s no going out without eating something.”-Imad AlarnabImad Alarnab was a successful restaurateur in Damascus with three restaurants, plus several juice bars and cafes. In the war, Imad's restaurants were destroyed and he was forced to flee the country in search of safety for his family. Making his way from Lebanon through Europe, Imad shared his skills cooking for other refugees, up to 400 at a time, and found even in the most challenging times, his passion for food and bringing people together to celebrate life was strong.

We had a gorgeous evening at Blanchette. It was lively in an enjoyable, atmospheric way with candlelit tables and busy service. Everything we ordered was delicious - especially the trout main and cheeses we tried. We had to move after two hours to the bar as our reservation was up, which was no problem and allowed us to enjoy both table and bar seating. I would really recommend for an occasion or celebration, we loved it.

Really enjoyed our meal at Imad's. Food was delicious and served on not so small sharing plates. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Only drawback is the number of seat/tables in a small space making it quite noisy and sometimes hard to hear those at your table. Would return nonetheless!
