- LLawrenceMelbourne •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIn the last-minute rush to book a restaurant on Valentine's Day, Open Table saved the day and we managed to book a table for two at The Pier. The interior is tastefully designed and surprisingly quiet, allowing conversation without having to raise your voice. The menu should satisfy most diners, with dietary preferences catered for. We started with the burrata fresh citrus, pickled fennel jam & fig leaf oil which was delicious and augured well for the meal to come. We accompanied the buratta with the optional wood-fired bred, and I recommend you do too. Our main courses were the Summer Risotto and the Fish of the day (salmon on our visit); both wonderful. Popular choices at neighbouring tables included the Portarlington chilli mussels and the Wagyu bolognese. Political correctness precluded me from tasting what was on my neighbours' plates, but they seemed to enjoy their choices. We ended the meal with chocolate pudding, served with ice cream and macadamia. Another highlight was the friendly, efficient and unobtrusive service. Highly recommended.More infoPier Port MelbournePrice: Expensive• Bistro• Port Melbourne•4.6

The creativity in the food was out of this world, with each dish crafted like a work of art and bursting with flavor. The staff were equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel completely at home. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. If you're looking for a place that combines innovative cuisine with top-tier service, this is it. - SSoniaMelbourne •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoTasty food, some French and some molecular cuisine techniques and a great display of Australian produce, including finger limes, local Wagyu beef, kangaroo and green ants, as well as a lovely cheese display cabinet....amazing flowers goat cheeses that rival the French ones' would have been nice to include Holy Goat. Wasn't a fan of the Chinese caviar (Russian or Iranian are much better...but wars in both regions may limit the supply), but in the absence of good quality one, it would have been nice to find an alternative ingredient. The first dish was certainly one of the stars as well as the kangaroo. Definitely full after 13 dishes!.... Very nice to invite guests into the kitchen to participate and chat to one of the 15 chefs and see the magic from up close! Overall, a great experience to be repeated.More infoVue de mondePrice: Very Expensive• Modern Australian• Melbourne CBD•4.9
