Very nice spot… Old Church vibe, with a bit of civil war nostalgia. We enjoyed the fried chicken and southern salad. Chicken was crispy n moist, but… $30.00 for 1/2 chicken? Some pickles and cornbread, but no sides? Salad was fresh and flavorful. Our server was very distracted, and likely wished we had gone somewhere else? Don’t think we would return. Too many other spots for great food and service in this lovely city!! YMMV

Went to Burwell for my husband’s birthday. I had ribeye steak, my husband NY Strip, my daughter filet mignon. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Delicious! One of my daughters had the Vinison which she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband was given truffles for his birthday from the restaurant which we shared. Desserts ordered- Humningbird Cheesecake, Crème Brûlée and Seasonal Cobbler were fantastic. Our waiter Aaron (not sure of spelling). Was fantastic. The atmosphere was great. Overall a great experience.

Googled a breakfast place and Virginia’s on King came up first. It did not disappoint. The food was fabulous, the service attentive, and the ambiance traditional Charleston. We will be back and bring friends. Highly recommend anything that comes with grits or get them on the side. Crab cakes were delicious, full of fresh flavor. I can’t say enough about the wait staff. Attentive without being stalkerish and just down home hospitality. Thanks VoK for a wonderful experience!

First up: Nathan. Fantastic hospitality, attentive and great personality. Worth his weight in gold. Second: if I only had one meal for the rest of my life it would be the current Wagyu Tartare on the menu. The kimchi Caesar??? Incredible. 12/10 I’m a Tartare girlie and that was the best. Second and a half: the tuna crudo. I’m so white Jalapeños are spicy to me, but that was a divine dish. Third: the hostess staff is efficient, warm and welcome. Bonus: they laughed with me not at me when I couldn’t figure out how to open the front door. All around great experience, thank you for knocking it out of the park.
