When you come to Opheem, you get an insight into the inner workings of my mind. We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? Because to evolve and adapt is what makes us human, and cooking is what sets us apart from the animals.

Madeleine follows the tradition of grand hotels with luxurious cocktail bars: its double-height windows, sparkling chandeliers, and rich soft furnishings make it at once super-glamorous and utterly enticing. We think that once you are sat at your table, sipping a cocktail or a glass of Champagne, you won’t want to leave – and who can blame you? We welcome you to enjoy some light French inspired snacks whilst with us, or why not indulge fully in our impressive Afternoon Tea, handcrafted by Head Pastry Chef, Roger Lomas, and his innovative team. Our hope is to establish Madeleine as somewhere that’s exclusively for everyone, a glamorous setting that’s perfect for special occasions, celebrations, and treats but equally somewhere you can drop by on the spur of the moment (subject to availability, of course).

I ordered the teriyaki Salmon. The salmon was cooked beautifully but it was a bit dry as a meal. Could have done with some sauce. The salad was just lettuce so it would have been nice to have some tomato & cucumber as well.

We had the most wonderful evening here for a birthday. Little touches like the birthday card made this a truly amazing evening. From the young man who greeted us, to all the staff who looked after us and meeting Aktar himself it was a special time. The chefs bought the courses out and explained each one - there wasn’t one that disappointed. Would wholly recommend.

Totally exceeded my expectations. Fabulous service, setting and food. Beautiful calm, graceful ambience with warm helpful staff and every item on the menu was first rate. A pleasant surprise that unlimited teas, any type of coffee and hot chocolate were included in afternoon tea and the rose fizz to accompany goes perfectly as an add on. A special start to Christmas and a refined yet relaxed oasis in which to enjoy it at leisure. Highly recommended thank you - we will be back.
