To make the best of the Broadwater you should really eat good seafood, and it’s hard to think of a place that does it better on the Gold Coast than La Piazza On Bayview Street in Runaway Bay. Using its amazing waterfront location to full advantage, this casual fine-dining restaurant hauls in and dishes up supremely fresh and tasty seafood through a range of classic Italian and Mediterranean dishes, all with a touch of contemporary flair and Australian innovation. The atmosphere is sociable and friendly, but the cuisine is refined – live mud crabs and super fresh oysters start you on the right foot, though La Piazza On Bayview’s signature dish (vodka-cured Atlantic salmon, served with mustard aioli and capers on a crispy potato fritter) is so good it might wipe clean all previous memories.
