The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Delicious dinner, great service and beautifully decorated for the holidays! I had the lobster and spinach bacon salad. My husband had soup, walleye and baked potato. Warm rolls were served too. Chocolate torte for dessert was awesome!

The food did not disappoint. The cheddar biscuits did not seem to have the depth of flavor I always loved, but were still very good. A bit disappointed in waitress as it took quite a time for her to check if we were ready to order. I am concerned seeing a commercial for a $20 shrimp special, and having it explained that "we always have that." Would return for sure, just would order per the physical menu as is.

We went on Valentine's Day, and there were festive decorations, and such a fun atmosphere! I really enjoy the pink boxes that the burgers come in! We'll be back next year!
