We have lived locally for four years and never tried this restaurant as you need to book well in advance and we’ve never been organised enough to do so… We had a variety of pasta, pizza and a sharing T bone steak platter between us and the food was delicious. The steak and pizza were obviously cooked in a wood fired oven as they had a lovely smoked flavour and the pasta was excellent too. The food was good, we had steak and salmon, the service was efficient without being overbearing or rushed. Particularly impressive is the care & attention to an individual's likes & dislikes, which are noted for future visits. Add to this the chef's willingness to produce an alternative which is not on the menu. And for front of house to offer a wine which is not listed. Although wood paneled Mortimers is well lit, creating a calm & relaxing ambience.
