Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. Food was great! Service/logistics were off as we had reservations but ended up getting seating 50 minutes after our reserved time. Didn’t help some of our mains were forgotten as well. Must have been an off night as we’ve been here several times and service is usually on point.

The restaurant, bar and lounge areas spread out across multiple rooms / terraces / levels so it is a really intimate and fun layout. Excellent service and value. Price for classic drinks skewed a tad high in my opinion. I'll try and catch a happy hour sometime and the jazz performances.

This was a great experience. From the time we walked in until we left the staff were considerably, attentive, and extremely nice. The energy is inviting. The open kitchen was a nice addition to the experience filling the room with warmth. The menu was clearly designed with deep thought and intention. Would highly recommended.

I will definitely be going back again. The food was delicious. We ordered the lobster and crab scampi, crab cakes, lamb chops, mac ‘n cheese, kale caesar salad, and the corn bread (waiter recommendation). Everything… EVERYTHING… was delicious. Portion sizes were reasonable. The salad and the mac and cheese are shareable. Our waiter was on his A game and we didn’t want for anything. He was on too of it and knew the menu very well. The drinks were excellent. Can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this first time experience.
