Best Historic Restaurants in Pawtucket

Wonderful staff, food and value. Be sure to make reservations or you may not get in until late. The "Appy Hour" from 3 to 6 pm is the best raw bar value in the area. Great cocktails and beer selections. For a small kitchen it's amazing how much food comes out and always delicious. Highly recommended stop in Federal Hill. Convenient $20 parking a couple blocks down the street.

We made reservations on line for Valentine’s Day less than a week before the 14th. I was very happy to get a reso at such late notice but noticed that it said we’d be dining outside. When I called they told me that it meant we could be sitting in the Venda deli where they would be setting up tables and serving the same food if there were no tables inside when I get there. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed. The hostess who was fantastic told us that we would have to wait about 20 mins. By the time I went to the bar and got drinks for us she came and got us to be seated in the main restaurant upstairs. I honestly don’t know how they were able to accommodate so many people, so efficiently. It obviously was not like a normal day but they did a great job working hard to please their customers. We were very impressed at how fast we got served and how pleasant the staff was in the midst of the very busy evening. Thank You!

This was my 3rd time at the George. Food and service never disappoint! Both are exceptional! It’s pricier than other restaurants I typically visit, but it is so worth it! It is super noisy (all three times I have been sat at a 2-person table in the bar area; next time I will request to sit in the dining room area). If you love live music, the bar area is a great place to be, but don’t expect to have both music and conversation; also the locals sitting at the bar area definitely use their outdoor yelling voices to be heard over the music (so if you’re into ease-dropping, this could be your place! lol). In short, the bar is great if you know you’re walking in to a music and conversation room that will limit the amount of conversation you can have at your own table. If you are looking for dinner and conversation, I would not recommend NOT being sat in the bar area.

Had a great meal here! Smelled delicious the moment we stepped in the door. We shared the Invernale salad (greens and beets! mmm!). We both had the Pork Roast meal and it was awesome! Tender, tasty pork and creamy polenta with Swiss Chard for the greens. Friendly waitstaff and a nice environment overall. Short walk to PPAC for a show after dinner.

Me and my girlfriend came here for our 5 year anniversary and it was definitely worth it. The food was so good best Italian food I’ve had in a long time the drinks were amazing. I would definitely recommend going here.
