The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. The New Yorker opened in 1930 at the height of the Great Depression as the then largest hotel in the city. It has attracted a who’s who of entertainers and dignitaries from around the world, including Muhammad Ali, JFK, Joan Crawford and Nikola Tesla. Beneath the hotel, a bank vault and offices were occupied by the Manufacturers Trust Company until 1980. With the opening of Butcher & Banker, the public can see the vault for the first time in 37 years.

The Russian Tea Room is your destination for charming ambiance, gracious service, and impeccably crafted food. It was the best and most memorable dining experience of my entire life! I didn’t know what to expect when I made a reservation for myself & five of my friends to celebrate my 60th birthday but I was in for the best time. As soon as you walk in you are struck with the elegance of the bar area. Wait staff were very helpful & the view of the East River & Queens was stunning. We were treated incredibly well by our waitress, Elizabeth. The food was amazing & inventive. I would have liked the bar to have more choices, such as I would have loved a kir royale but that wasn’t available. Even though, we had a fabulous time.

We loved Monterey! It’s a lovely restaurant conveniently located near lots of Midtown attractions. The food and beverage presentations were impressive. We had the prime rib special and everything was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. For dessert, the Bananas Foster was prepared table side. The presentation and taste were amazing. We can’t wait to return.
