Hook & Ladder is the unexpected steakhouse you’d never thought you’d find in the historic, original firehouse of the Washington Fire Company. This is a one-of-a-kind Skybar experience allowing guests a close view of our 149 year old firehouse, bell tower and original stained glass windows. A unique cross between a chop house and Crudo bar, Hook & Ladder features Certified A5 Japanese wagyu beef that will melt in your month. Dry aged Steak offerings including 32 days dry aged Porterhouse (28oz), 32 days aged Tomahawk Ribeye (40oz) that will taste decidedly beefy, much like a rare roast beef, while also taking on subtler hints of other delicious flavors. Crudo uses the Japanese technique of curing the fish making it more tender and flavorful. Finishing it with lime, lemon, and soy; featuring Wild King Salmon, Japanese Madai, Hamachi and more.     Two of us ordered the bow tie pasta with shrimp & crab with Volkswagen like sauce but the problem was there wasn’t any crab in either entree. Very disappointing. The calamari was excellent. if you’re going to advertise that this dish has crab then please put it in.

    My wedding photos were taken here in 2001- always a special place in my heart and the service and food , along with the setting is amazing. Christmas here at the Inn is always a must to end the year on a positive note.

    We really enjoyed our dinner at the Joseph Ambler Inn. The butternut squash soup and shrimp cocktail appetizers were absolutely delicious. Not to be out done by the scallops and Chilean Seabass entrées which were just out of this world. The butter cake, flan and chocolate ice cream were a perfect ending to an absolutely "top-notch" dinner – kudos to the chef! What really made our dinner fun and even more enjoyable was our awesome server Tina. She had a smile that would light up a room and she kept us entertained all evening long with her phenomenal sense of humor. Thank you for an awesome evening Tina !!!
