- SSamLondon •11 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoHave been visiting Red Dog at Hoxton square since they launched, but we had a long hiatus since 2020 (boo-hiss). Me and 4 mates, all BBQ lovers with an assortment of eggs and offsets to smoke at home came for a catch up. Buffalo wings have always been a stalwart starter at RD, the burned end nuggets are an amazing addition to the menu, and the sausage platter all went down well; great spice levels in the morcilla. Shared a platter and some full cuts for mains; brisket was excellent, other cuts great, pork ribs were the only slight let down without much flavour- sauce to the rescue. Great service from our lovely waitress who had to put up with our table's antics, all in all glad to be back to a great venue with some great meat dishes.More infoRed Dog Saloon HoxtonPrice: Moderate• American• Shoreditch•4.4

We started with olives and roasted bone marrow, a favourite we order whenever possible, and this was the best we’ve ever had. Accompanying parsley salad was flavourful crunchy and fresh, perfect accompaniment along sourdough toast. For mains we shared grey mullet, grilled shorthorn, white asparagus, green salad and a sublime braised mutton. Everything was superb and we were quite full but couldn’t resist dessert. Both the lemon posset and date loaf with butterscotch sauce were incredible and we ate every last bit. Service was low key excellent and very helpful as we ordered wine by the glass having over imbibed over the weekend and server recommendations were perfect.More infoSt. JOHN SmithfieldPrice: Very Expensive• British• Farringdon•4.8
