Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous Fried Chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

It was Thanksgiving and it was very busy. As usual the Japaneses hibachi bbq experience was lively and the chef was funny and entertaining. The dinner was really good and there was plenty to choose from for both meat eaters with steak, shrimp, chicken choices and vegetarians with a tofu choice and plenty of vegetables and rice. The company around the communal table was friendly and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal and ate everything and also had dessert. We upgraded our dessrt from the included ice cream to a delicious banana tempura. It was unusual and so good! A great alternative to the traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner that we really enjoyed.

Service was cordial, prompt and efficient yet not rushed. Food came out of the kitchen quickly, attractively plated and perfectly cooked. Portions were satisfyingly substantial. And, a very pleasant dinner for two at only $50 was an added bonus. The Oswego Grill on Kruse is my 'go to ' for entertaining out of town guests (and sometimes in towners too).

Dining area was draped off from the bar area which was a unique way to section the two areas. Noise could still be heard from the bar. However we were seated by the door and despite the efforts to keep the cold out my wife was could through our dinner. I appreciate the effort to section off the cold but it was still a bother. Food was good but the Pork Oso Buccu I was looking forward to ordering ran out. The ravioli was a good substitute so perhaps an earlier reservation to get full options from the menu might be needed.
