A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Excellent table on patio by the fireplace provided a great dining experience which was quieter than inside . Food choices were plentiful and arrived quickly. Our server Zoey was superb! Pleasant and responsive without intruding on our conversations.

Stephany the server was great but our chef Sara was not interactive and hardly spoke. It sucked that we Missed the Benihana experience of fun of being cooked in front of for my grand daughter’s birthday.

We love everything about CaliChili. It's so easy to find a parking spot and once you enter the restaurant, it's like stepping into a different world. Wonderful ambiance, a unique menu and excellent food. The service is attentive without being intrusive. We started with a new item on the menu, Calamari and French Bean. It leans into more Southeast Asian flavors and was a perfect starter. It was a cold and drizzly night, so we ordered the Dum Biryani with lamb as our main course. The meat was falling off the bone. The rice, lamb and yogurt sauce all melded together perfectly. Thank you for another wonderful meal.
