Best Neighbourhood Gem Restaurants in Millbrae

Went on Valentine’s Day!!! had reservations at 8, showed up at 7:45 and didn’t get seated until after 9. You would think for a business that’s been open for so long they would have a system for seating during busy holidays. Our Chef James made the wait worthwhile though , he made great jokes and interacted with my son who gets shy in these types of situations. By far the best chef I’ve had here. thank you James

We were 5, 3 stayed on the table and 2 on the bar and my experience at the bar was awful, female in white shirt there asked us if we just walked in and just sat at the bar, but we were actually assisted by people at the front and seated us properly at the bar, and then it felt like we were asked if we could afford the red wine we were ordering as he has to tell us the price of Bordeaux per glass. Overall left a soar taste for me. My wife and son on tha table was great but at the bar was bad experience, not sure if I would be back there soon. Definitely not our first choice anymore.

Good food — excellent calamari over a bed of lettuce appetizer & very good minestrone soup, delicious & very hardy veal marsala that comes w/ mash potato, polenta& veggies. The 3 medallions of veal were prepared just right & tender “submerged” in the “complex” thick sauce w/ mushrooms! The lamb shank is tasty & easily comes off the bone with knife & fork. However, the edges of the lamb seem to be “over done” & “scourged” so are hard to chew. The mash potatoes & veggies are good compliments to the dish. The pinot noir paired well with both dishes. The creme brûlée dessert was excellent along with a cup of the strong Cafe Americano!

Our dining experience at Central Park Bistro was very lovely. The food and it presentation were great. We really enjoyed the ambiance, and our waiters name was Oz, and he recommended my wine which was very nice, and helped me choose between 2 entrees, and I loved his choice. Can not wait to go back. Overall, it was a decent place for Indian food. The decor is a little dated but the food is quite authentic and it tasted good.
