Best Neighbourhood Gem Restaurants in Ocean Beach

Finally a FRESH SEAFOOD DOWN TO EARTH CLASSY Restaurant that provides the ultimate in freshness in every ingredient tasted this night. My wife and I frequent seafood restaurants all over the Pacific including Maui and other neighboring islands. Only one that came close is Merrimans' not Mama's. The Fishery is the Real Deal and Thanks to the wonderful mind and hard work of the Owner and its' hard workers and especially the Chef who have nailed this hard to please type of cuisine and preparation.... Great food at reasonable prices. Good service, floor was a bit cold initially but we eventually got used to it.

We enjoyed a Christmas Eve feast at Solare. We got there early, and were directed to their lounge area until our table was ready. Enjoyed a perfect Prosecco and Chianti and chatted with a few folks sitting at the bar. This place always feels like family, the team at Solare is always helpful and engaging.. We took a table outside and had a fantastic meal. I especially liked the Lamb Porterhouse. So good. The seasoning was very unique. The Owner, Randy, even stopped by. He really seemed to care about how our meal was, and offered a few suggestions. Our server Francois, helped us get the perfect wine, and was extremely attentive, even though this was one of their busiest nights of the year. Thanks to all the folks at Solare for making this a great evening.

Simply put, one of the best meals I have had the privilege of enjoying! Delightful server, Calvin, was very in tune with the timing of our meal and our needs. The fixed menu was perfect for Christmas Eve, as it kept the meal flowing and decision-making to a minimum. Every course was delectable from the scallop crudo, the creamed mushrooms, and the sea bass, to the date cake with walnut ice cream! Mezcal hibiscus cocktail was creative and tasty, as well! I will definitely be back!

Awesome experience as always. We love this place. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place👍
