Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries.     Excellent service and food. A bit pricey but worth every dollar spent. We were celebrating a birthday and had varied dishes, smoked NY steak, pork chop, lamb chops, chicken and Chilean sea bass. We were all highly satisfied. The bread and the sauce they bring out with it has a kick but was very tasty. If I had to name an inconsistency it would be with the cocktails, they were a little slow coming out and the 1st drink was great but the 2nd was ok after ordering the same drink.

    this place was great. the service was friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing and with big portions, I ordered the spaghetti and meatball and it was the best I ever had. I love the live entertainment, a frank Sinatra karaoke singer was very good. Overall it was a great experience, a little pricy but worth it.

    The level of food quality and consistency at this establishment is simply unmatched. You can go anywhere and get a good meal once, to come back again and again and see the established high quality standard that has been set in both the front and back of house is really refreshing. Since moving to Las Vegas about 15 months ago, my wife and I make a point to go here at least once a month. Their seasonal menu turns over every few months with a few staples never leaving. Their “Royale with cheese” is a top 5 burger in Las Vegas - period, the spicy garlic shrimp and their seasonal pasta dishes cannot be skipped. The food alone will make you come back but Kat and the entire front of house team set the standard in terms of making you feel welcome and at home in their restaurant.
