Best Restaurants for Afternoon Tea in Douglaston

One of the best experiences I’ve had in New York. Had to book pretty early in advance due to the Valentines Day weekend rush, but got a lovely early afternoon spot. The atmosphere was so elegant & classy. Our waitress Mary Alice was so kind, accommodating, and overall such a pleasure to interact with. Yes it is pricey, but the experience and the quality of the food/tea was well worth it.

Our waiter Ben was outrageous. Very knowledgeable about the menu and what pairs well with each item. Bone marrow was perfect consistency and the braised short rib toast compliments the marrow perfectly. The dry aged steak was amazing and cooked exactly as requested. The fillet mignon was tender and cooked to perfection. Make and cheese was just the right mix of cheese pasta and bread crumbs. Look forward to dining again there.

Chat Noir is always a joyful experience. The staff was attentive and do a fine job of taking care of us. The food was and always is great and the environment feels like an intimate setting for a nice romantic evening with great food and drink. It was Valentine’s Day so we expected it to be busier than normal, the staff did an excellent job of keeping things moving. Classy place with great food and service.

Excellent classic and traditional afternoon tea. The scones, in particular, were wonderful - warm, fresh and delicious. The hotel is very cute with interesting decor and Wedgewood china.

Our favourite restaurant whenever we are in NY. Impeccable food, service and ambience. Refined rather than brash like so many other restaurants in NY. A total treat.
