Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. All the while, the tavern continued to provide food, shelter and cheer to the hungry, weary soldiers fighting for their independence. Today, we honor our historic tavern’s tradition with a mission to raise the spirits of our guests. Best Onion Soup I've had in a long time! We were seated quickly and our server, Zoe, immediately greeted us. She was friendly and checked in on us regularly. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and dress is casual. Just what I hoped for on a Saturday night! We'll be back soon!

We had a lovely birthday dinner with family! We did appreciate being seated in a quieter part of the dining room for our celebration. Dana, our server, was wonderful!! She was welcoming and upbeat! She did everything she could to make our experience very enjoyable….completely above and beyond in her service. The food was delicious and served in very timely fashion. We look forward to returning soon!! Thank you, Chadwick’s!!

We always enjoy dining at the Farm House. The cuisine is outstanding (we had the filet mignon and the pan-seared scallops, both of which were cooked and presented perfectly), and the service exemplary. The ONLY downside to the Farm House is the noise level. Being a place with 8 foot ceilings and no noise abatement tiles or other mitigation, it gets LOUD...but that is not enough to keep us from returning. Perhaps the owners/management can install some ceiling tiles or some other minimally invasive product to keep the noise from bouncing off those hard walls and ceilings.
