- LLauraSan Diego •6 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWow the food here is absolutely delicious . We started with the oysters and the Wagyu tartare, both were incredible and I had the black cod and my husband had the pasta for dinner and it was amazing. Service from Erick was with a smile and very friendly atmosphere. It’s a bit small, with only one bathroom and was busy on a Saturday night, but we’ll definitely be back!More infoWormwoodPrice: Very Expensive• French• North Park•4.7
- HHamiltonvipSan Diego •11 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoMan, I noticed a few bad reviews for this place but we totally disagree. This is a cool, smaller restaurant attached to the Hotel Valencia. It has a nice u-shaped bar with what seemed to be mostly locals hanging out talking with the staff. Upscale vibe but not "stuffy" La Jolla vibe. The cocktails were amazing and fairly creative. We also thought the food was excellent, contrary to what a few other folks have said. The braised short rib Mao, crispy pumpkin squash, and twinkie ceaser were the standouts. Only minor downsides were that you can smell the seals a little bit and it was a bit chilly inside, as the door was kept open. Overall we really enjoyed our experience.More infoThe Whaling BarPrice: Expensive• Californian• La Jolla•4.5
- JJenniferSan Diego •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoLast night we celebrated my fiance's birthday and we had a FANTASTIC Time. We checked in with the hostess, she was welcoming and we noticed that special menus had been printed and personalized for our special birthday dinner together; that is ABOVE and BEYOND. We enjoyed starter bread with the amazing dipping sauce, wonderful entrees, desserts and ended the night with cappuccinos. The food was spectacular, the service was unparalleled and the night was very memorable. I am so grateful to Piatti...for a dinner we will always remember. I am so grateful to all the staff; thank you so much.More infoPiatti - La JollaPrice: Moderate• Italian• La Jolla•4.7
- NNataliavipSan Diego •21 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoWhat can I say? This is easily one of the best happy hour spots in San Diego! The ambiance is stunning, the service is outstanding, and the food is absolutely incredible. We had yet another fantastic experience here, this time for an early dinner to celebrate my kid’s birthday. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the Japanese sweet potatoes are a must-try, the fish and chips were amazing—so fresh and moist—and the clam chowder was perfection. The smoked trout dip wasn’t my favorite this time, but it was still a solid appetizer. Our server, Mike, was exceptional—attentive, polite, and spot-on with his food recommendations. We’ll definitely be back, and if you’ve never been to this place, make a reservation now. You can thank me later!More infoIronside Fish & OysterPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Little Italy•4.4
- TSTerrySOrange County •7 reviews4.0Dined on 11 Jul 2024New York West is very convenient if you are staying at Embassy Suites. It has a great bar and televisions, but also kid-friendly. It's mostly a burger and pizza kind of place with a few salads. I got the Caeser salad with salmon and they were served separately...that was different.... Great bar-food restaurant when you are close and have the kids with you!More infoNew York WestPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Downtown / Gaslamp•3.6
