Inspired by the wood-fired Robata grills of Japan, Mizu offers a refreshed take on live-fire cooking atop the Hyatt Centric in the heart of Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood. We started with great cocktails followed by delicious food that four of us shared. We had sea bass, duck breast, pork buns, mushrooms, crispy potatoes, Maguro Heat maki roll. Everything was beautifully seasoned and cooked perfectly. Service was attentive and helpful

The food is good but certain dishes had huge portions (chicken parm) while others were small (lasagna). They are short wait staff which makes the service slow. We ended up having to call another manager/server twice. They also had a large, loud party in their private room but didn’t close the door making it unusually loud. I don’t plan to return (and the sister restaurant, Zinicola, is better).
