- MMatthewPortland / Oregon •14 reviews5.0Dined todayThis Italian restaurant translating to "Tortoise" served up tasty and hot food on a changing menu along with excellent Italian wines. We sat in one of the two fish bowl booths at the entrance to the restaurant, and it made the experience cozy for our party of four. The server and staff were courteous, knowledgable, and attentive. The Pork Osso Bucco, which featured a meaty and succulent shank nestled in a generous bed of saffron risotto, was perfect for a cold winter's evening meal. The Olive Oil Poached Sablefish delivered on the ocean fish's promised richness. The Bolognese, featuring Tartuca's homemade Radiatori pasta, was delectable. We also enjoyed the house Sangiovese, which was reasonably priced for a restaurant wine. This was our first visit to Tartuca, but certainly not the last.More infoTartucaPrice: Expensive• Italian• NE Portland•4.7

Unfortunately, they’ve added on a health surcharge and included gratuity plus increased pricing. Their system double charges customers for this by basically “double-taxing” the total after gratuity/health fees and not on the actual core base amount. It’s frustrating to see restaurants take this trend under the guise of “we can’t afford to pay for healthcare for our employees” but equally then not correctly implement this taxing system. It makes the conversation with servers awkward because the service staff is fabulous!More infoOlympia Provisions SoutheastPrice: Expensive• Contemporary European• SE Portland•4.6
- CChristinePortland / Oregon •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoI am obsessed with the food here! I have to say the Brûléed Squash and Burrata was soooo tasty!! The crispy chicken confit’ also was amazing, it was so tender. It just fell right off the bone. The skin was perfectly crisp. We were celebrating our 13th anniversary and they brought us a couple of complementary glasses of bubbly with some Italian wedding cookies. Grazie Mille!! Will definitely be backMore infoDolly OlivePrice: Expensive• Italian• NW Portland•4.8

Great food for thought and we won’t be seeing food the same way again! Also great NA drinks and lovely service. Thank you!More infoRepúblicaPrice: Very Expensive• Mexican• Pearl District•4.7
