We set out to create the kind of establishment we'd love to find in one of the UK's most beautiful cities, one where old-fashioned hospitality is valued, food is delicious and where beautiful surroundings can be found hidden around every corner.From breakfast where we serve our unique Beforenoon Tea - the breakfast edition of afternoon tea - to lunch which includes Assembly House classics and grazing boards, we're open seven days a week. We're most famous for our themed afternoon teas which change regularly and are served from noon until last service at 3.30pm daily. As the Home of Afternoon Tea, we also serve some spectacular savoury versions of tea, including Beforenoon Tea, seafood option Afternoon Sea and our cheese-based option Afternoon Cheese.     Went with the family for my birthday and it was perfect! It’s so nice inside beautiful and cosy, service was brilliant and food was amazing!! I’m gluten free and I have never had such a beautiful and delicious selection of treats. There was zero FOMO I had almost the same as the gluten full options. I loved the little pastries and I will deffo go back just for a cream tea at some point because the scones were amazing. I had to take some of the cakes home because I couldn’t eat them all. I loved the tea options. I also love how they can cater for all dietary requirements. As well as me being gf my daughter is vegetarian and my husband’s not keen on cake so took the fish one and they were all so good 👌🏻👌🏻

    We had a minor problem with one of our meals. The way that it was dealt with went way above and beyond our expectations. The food was amazing and portion size big. We had the crispy chilli beef and Camembert to start, followed by the Skate wing and Cajun spiced flat iron steak. The crispy chilli beef tasted amazing and so fresh, the Camembert with homemade cheese straw was delicious. I had the flat iron steak and it was cooked to perfection and so tender. The skate wing was melt in the mouth amazing. We were too full to have dessert but have had one on a previous visit and they are incredible. All waiting staff and the manager were attentive and couldn’t have done more.

    A perfect venue for any occasion, ours happened to be afternoon tea on New Year’s Day with family. The staff were brilliant, tentative, observant and yet discreet. Hats off to everyone… we will be back. Sam

    Second time dining at Thurlton Queen’s Head, love everything about the place, cosy & warm on a grey autumn day, lots of choice on the menu, food was delicious and a fine selection of gins on the bar, will definitely return
