Way back in 1975, the Sail Loft lit the fire for Steve Silverstein, who went on to open nearly 40 restaurants. Located in the quintessential seaside village of Padanaram, it was the neighborhood place where you could get a good (strong) drink, chef prepared comfort food and relax in a convivial atmosphere with familiar faces. The Sail Loft was everyone’s favorite place; it was a hangout where some came for food and others for drink.When the Sail Loft became available in 2021, Steve jumped on the opportunity to take the wheel. Steve and his wife Judy transformed the Sail Loft into an elevated neighborhood restaurant with a distinct updated boatyard feel. The spot is nautical with a chef-driven yet approachable menu, a deep selection of spirts and an intriguing wine list. As with all of Silverstein’s places, while the food, drink and design are always top-notch, it is the warm hospitality that keeps ‘em coming back.

    Love the Sail Loft. We live 5 min away so we go alot. The food is always amazing, the waiters super friendly, the ambiance is inviting. Gingerbread Martini was so good! The only thing I dislike is how close the tables are in the dining room area and Im only sharing this so you know to ask for outside dining area which is heated or a booth if you are like me and like your space. Ive always sat at the bar or outside patio so tonight was first time in dining room and I prob won’t sit there again if I can help it. I felt like I was having dinner with the people on both sides of me, it was a little awkward. Other than this I will always go back to Sail Loft (just not their dining room lol) Try the Lobster Rangoons!!!!

    We were a table of four on a busy Saturday night. Despite the full house the waitstaff were on top of their game and very attentive. Shout out to Matt who was our server and went above and beyond to keep us happy. We ordered several apps--highlights were the chicken spring rolls (fresh and light) and the very fresh and well chilled oysters (Eastham). The shrimp dumplings were a bit of a disappointment--heavy and greasy pan fried dough and it was hard to detect the shrimp filling. That was the only mediocre item all night though. The main courses were excellent. Steak tips, Pad Thai and Ramen were our main entrees. Don't laugh at my ramen choice--this is not the stuff you ate in college. A deeply flavorful broth topped with fresh steamed vegetables, a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg, smoked chicken, bean sprouts and cilantro covered a bowlful of perfectly cooked ramen noodles. We still managed to find room to split a dessert--apple crisp and ice cream-excellent. Drinks were generous and well made. We really appreciated the high quality live music. And even with the lively music, we could still have a conversation and hear ourselves talk. We'll be back soon--it's one of our favorite spots.
