   Staff were inattentive. They were out of certain staple menu items. There were paper napkins on some place settings and cloth napkins on others. It seemed as if none of them cared about delivering a positive guest experience.

   Perhaps you’ve tried this already, but I was wondering if it would be worth trying an extension to the breakfast/brunch menu, especially at weekends? Frühstück is a very important meal in Germany, and when I’ve been there, I’ve been able to track down scrambled eggs into the late afternoon!

   We love German Gymnasium,great building, convenient for King's Cross station, friendly staff and the food feels authentically German

   Very expensive for what we had but the restaurant is amazing and I’m glad I went wasn’t happy that my waitress took her own tip added to my bill without even asking if this was ok. I would have happily gave a tip but that would be my decision. Overall great restaurant however pricey for what it is

   This used to be one of my favourite places but was really put off by our latest visit and don’t feel like going back (have been about 20 times). Felt like we were ripped off but didn’t realise until after we’d paid. We had requested the £36 Bottle of Sauvignon Blanc but were charged for £62 bottle. This soured the whole experience and will no longer recommend it

The waiter who was passing by and took your wine order was very busy and by accident pressed the wrong button (they are next to each other). And then the waiter who was looking after you- served the wine, not knowing that it is not the one you ordered. I hope you can understand that it was a honest mistake and not malicious in any way.    I enjoyed our meal here primarily this time because of the buzz - and we had a good table. The food does what it says. The schnitzels came as described - a little dry I found but I'd also ordered a side dish which helped. Service was ok - very pleasant & professional but a bit stretched so several times we were working quite hard to attract attention to ask for extra orders. I would happily go back again though, it's a good location and a bit different from a lot of the options in the area.

    Delicious German food in a relaxed atmosphere. The Black Forest Gateau is a must.
