   First time dining here after being recommended by friends. The atmosphere was nice and great food display, however wasn’t the best steak that I was expecting. The sirloin was just slices of meat, rather than a whole steak. The filet was cooked properly, however difficult to cut and not as “buttery”, compared to other restaurants. Table side guac was fun.

   Hostess team not very friendly, our server had as little interaction as the taxidermy on the walls. The women’s bathroom stalls did not shut. The cocktails were average but the thing that’s saves the place I believe is the price of the food and quantity. Coming from the PNW I was shocked. The “loaded” potato table side is a great idea but not when cheese is tossed all over the table. Just ask for it when ordering. Given we were told we needed reservations and it was in the heart of the stockyards. I was disappointed. If you are looking for a “nice” dinner for a family yes. Couple perhaps not.

   Waiter was very good. Eat the mexicali dinner every year during flsr for a long time. This year the steak was not good, stringy and tough.

   Ordered the filet medium rare, it came out rare. The baked potato was cold. The drinks from the bar took forever and were not great, not sure how you mess up a Crown and Diet Coke. The best thing we had was the chips and salsa and the bread. Won’t go back.

   Smoked sirloin flavor was great but was cold and over cooked. Food took a while, but the server was attentive.

   Service was excellent and great ambiance. They ran out of prime rib so my wife went with the filet, whilst I opted for the ribeye. We weren’t impressed with the flavour of the steak, or lack of it, despite it being cooked over wood.

   The Mexicali dish is awesome and I would go back just for that dish. The chips and queso are good as well as the peach cobbler. The service was excellent and everyone very friendly.

   Although our experience started out well, when our food was delivered, the smoked sirloin was very dry. We tried to locate our server but to no avail. I had to go to the reception desk to ask someone to ask our server for our bill. A different server came with our bill and we shared the steak was dry. Because half of it was still on the platter. She agreed and took the steak off the bill. Although we appreciated this, I was disappointed because I was out of town, guest and bragged about the smoke sirloin. Thank goodness we ordered a half a rack of ribs, which were very good, so between this and the sides we left pleasantly full.

    Waiter was not familiar with the Scotch and or wine list that was available. Once we chose a wine he brought out a wine that was $60 more expensive as a substitute at the higher price. Baked potable had to be sent back as it was slight cooler than room temperate. Steak had good flavor but was served on a cold platter which chilled the steak quickly.
