    Hakkisan had a place in San Fran and the dim sum was amazing; we’d go often then it closed down during the pandemic times. Coming here for NYE was a treat being looked forward to… but was suspicious of the NYE special menu. First dish, a scallop dumpling soup, was cold. That set things off in a weird trajectory. While the waiter apologized no reparation was made of any kind. Then did sum came out … warm this time, but subpar from usual expectations. Sticky wraps, chewy proteins, mediocre. Then the entrees … stunningly great lobster fries ride was the star… but the beef was too raw and fatty, the Buddha veggies were a mess with a syrupy aftertaste, and the sea bass was soooo overcooked it was solid not flakey. A truly disappointing NYE experience.

    Our host Tiana at the desk was a beautiful, polite and simply amazing person welcoming us to Hakkasan restaurant…we had wonderful experience with fine dining thanks to the chef and our server Crystal, she paid so much attention for our food to be on time so we can enjoy and celebrate our anniversary 🎆🍾🥂🥂🥂…..Thank you all and Happy New Year everyone 🎇🎄🎇

    We made the reservation over a month ago to celebrate two birthdays. Had a conversation with the person who took the reservation expressing how we loved the New York location when it was open and we only come for the Peking Duck with Caviar. So we sit down to order on a Monday night and are told they are out of Peking Duck. Total dissatisfaction and disappointment. How does a restaurant not order correctly and leave a guest in a position where they feel any other restaurant would have been able to provide a better experience. Let the guest know prior to coming in so alternate plans can be made. The server said they ran out of duck the prior day. The incompetence of the back of the house left us wanting to be anywhere but there. Total let down and will never be back.

    Service was good, friendly and knowledgeable. We had the Duck Bao, Seared Scallops, HK fried rice, Drunken wontons and Singapore Crab Spring Rolls. Everything was good except the scallops were underdone and not crispy / caramelized on the outside. My Veuve pour was skimpy. For $30 a glass (half the price of a bottle) I was hoping for a little more - been in the biz myself for too long to remember...just sayin'
