   This restaurant consistently has great food and service. Excellent selection of diverse menu items and price points. We shared a cup of blue crab bisque and caesar salad. Both were perfectly prepared with great flavors. Soup was rich and salad nicely dressed. We had the shrimp and grits (lots of sweet shrimp!) and the special grouper on bed of guinoa with mixture of butternut squash, zucchini mixed in. A light sauce on top of fish with red pepper pesto. Grouper pan-sautéd perfectly. Both entrées were good sized portions. Service is personable and timely. We would like to try other restaurants in the area, but always come back to Halyards.

   Once again we had a wonderful dining experience. Our appetizers and entrees were excellent - creative food combinations with quality ingredients. Our server Katie was great and made us feel very special even though she also had a large table she was serving for a birthday celebration. This is our fourth visit in six months and there is always something different to order and try, with each selection becoming a new favorite.

   Staff was friendly and smiling. Ambiance was upscale without being stuffy. I had planned to course out the meal myself but the wait staff assured that it would be taken care of if we would simply place the order all together. Horrid timing there after. We had ordered a bottle of wine, appetizer of baked oysters and bread, first course of salad to share as well as a cup of crab bisque… this all hit the table at one time! I insist the soup need to be held back as the oysters needed to be eaten warm, as would the soup. The salad could sit in the table.. if it really had to… later, the bisque was then forgotten until I asked for it again. Shocker, one bite of soup and the entree landed on the table, now it getting cold while the soup needed to be quickly eaten. The table a mess of plates… after inquiring about pepper and spicy foods on the menu, the seared tuna arrived with a spicy pepper garnish across the plate, tuna refrigerator cold in the center (better admittedly than overcooked). The sparsely detailed menu failed to indicate the traditional shrimp and grits was actually seasonal, spiced with fall spices and mixed with squash making it more of a pumpkin pie with shrimp. To round out the meal, a bread pudding was ordered with a cortado specifically request to arrive with the dessert. Well, the coffee arrived no less than ten minutes prior to the bread pudding, sitting cold while I finished the bottle of wine that I continued to pour given no one else was about to help… I will admit, the atmosphere was nice. The staff friendly. I can even say the food was good, if a bit of a surprise as it seemed not to correlate with the menu. Can I honestly say I would recommend to others… only with honest reservation unfortunately…

   We went there for our Anniversary and it was excellent, from the food, service and atmosphere, it wasn’t very busy so the noise level was acceptable
