This was our first visit to the Manchester restaurant, we’ve eaten in the London restaurants a few times. As expected the steaks and accompaniments were perfect. The drinks were on the expensive side, my wife had 2 Amaretto and cokes and I had 2 whisky sours and we had a small glass of Merlot each this was just short of £120 plus service charge so £135 almost as much as the food.

Service was impeccable, our waitress was incredible. Starters were ok, £20 for 3 tiny scallops with some breadcrumbs on them and £25 for half a lobster that the only flavour it had going for it was the garlic butter it was drowning in. My partner and I ordered the sirloin steaks for our mains, partner ordered medium rare, came to the table cooked rare at a push. A good vet could bring it back. Over powering flavour of salt. I ordered mine medium and it arrived well done. The quality of the beef reminded me of that of a cheap frozen steak. Nothing special. Very tough and chewy, however the buttered potatoes and beef dripping chips were delicious. Both the gravy and peppercorn sauce were nice too. After seeing so many positive reviews online, we were highly disappointed with our experience. Probably will not revisit and won’t be recommending Hawksmoor to anyone. Truly felt like a waste of £270.

Service was great, couldn’t haven’t been looked after any better. However the food didn’t quite meet the standard for the price or experienced at other Hawksmore restaurants. Our waiter took note of what we said and did remove 1 item from the bill which was hugely appreciated. The cocktails were literally one mouth full with half an iceberg in the glass which was also a shame as they weren’t the cheapest nor enjoyable. Previously visiting other Hawksmore restaurants I had high hopes that this would be a great surprise birthday meal for my partner. Overall could not fault the restaurant and staff as they were great and there service and help was much appreciated.

On arriving at Hawksmoor Manchester we were shown to a tiny, cramped table in the corner right next to a toilet door. Whilst I can appreciate one can be unlucky with table allocation the whole restaurant was cramped. The noise level inside was far too much for me, having visited different Steakhouses around the world, they are typically upmarket calm environments, this is not. The clientele was not as one might expect, i.e. well dressed, well heeled individuals and business types, there was a mixture of really very crass, foul mouthed and very loud people, students and those on party night outs. The staff we encountered were polite and helpful, but dressed in low key casuals, which is very much at odds with other Steakhouses. The food whilst OK was just OK, for me it was over seasoned and over rated, the prime rib was fatty, gristly and tough. The exception was the creamed spinach which was delicious. The scallops were tiny and too heavy on the garlic, the lobster was hugely overpriced. The bill was >£270 for two courses for two people, with 3 sides ordered to share at the main course, one of us did not drink and the other had a cocktail and a glass of wine. At this price point I was expecting a very different experience and it is unlikely that we would return.

Super friendly staff who went above and beyond to explain all the cuts off beef. A really super chilled atmosphere along with an ambiance that made a truly fabulous evening. Recommend one hundred percent. One of the best steak houses in Manchester if not the best in my opinion, .

Hawksmoor is my favourite restaurant and my first choice whenever I visit Manchester. Service was excellent as usual but the food was slightly disappointing this time. One of the rump steaks was more well done than medium as requested and my chicken piri piri was a bit too salty for my taste. However the apple pie and customer was sublime.

Was so looking forward to eating at hawksmore but unfortunately it did not live up to the high level that was set when we last visited. Very attentive hostesses on arrival. Our first waiter was very good. Not sure we liked the casual dress of the waiters. We found the noise level uncomfortable at times. Food was nice but not to the standard we were expecting. Overall disappointing for the price.
