   While the food was excellent and the service was great, we were seated in a small room with chipped paint and scarred wood molding and not a scrap of decoration on the walls. We reached our table by having to walk through a service area/kitchen. After leaving we exited through another door and found ourselves in a beautiful decorated high end restaurant. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and were totally underwhelmed by the ambiance of where they seated us.

   I wanted to take a moment to share our experience from our visit to Hefner Grill. We had a reservation for 4:45 PM and were seated a little after 5 PM. While our server was absolutely phenomenal and provided excellent service, we unfortunately experienced a delay in receiving our food due to a misplacement of our ticket in the kitchen. We truly appreciate the manager coming over to apologize and for the effort to make things right by compensating our meal. However, by the time we received our food—closer to 6 PM—we opted to take it to go. Unfortunately, the quality of the meal did not meet our expectations, and we left feeling disappointed. We wanted to bring this to your attention as we were really looking forward to our dining experience. We appreciate your time and consideration and hope this feedback helps improve future experiences for your guests.

   Hefner Grill is usually one of our go-to spots, and we always leave impressed. Last night, though, things just felt a little off—likely due to the Valentine’s Day rush. We had a late reservation (booked weeks in advance) for after 9 PM, and the restaurant was more packed than we’ve ever seen. Understandably, service was slower, and while our server was friendly, the attentiveness wasn’t quite there. The real letdown was the food. The crab dip and wine were solid, but the pork chop and sides were just okay. The gumbo, which we were excited to try, ended up being the biggest miss. It was served in a massive bowl but had barely any rice, lacked spice, and was light on shrimp and other proteins. Without a side like cornbread, it just felt incomplete. For the price, we expected bolder flavors and a more well-rounded dish. The atmosphere was still nice, but the crowd made it feel more chaotic than the usual relaxed experience we love. It wasn’t a bad meal, just not up to Hefner Grill’s usual high standards. We’ll definitely be back—hopefully, next time, it’ll be the experience we know and love.

   We went for Valentine’s Day and had a great time. The crab dip was amazing, and the main entrees were just as good. Service was top notch as well. The only downside was the 20-30 minute wait between the app and main course, because it was so busy. Good experience overall.

   First, I understand it was Valentine’s Day, but my son’s French fries came out literally frozen. They ended up bringing him more fairly quickly (I am still flabbergasted and cannot understand how you put uncooked frozen fries on a plate). Additionally, we were sat in the overflow room and our table was constantly being bumped by the staff. Second, I asked for a martini no olives and it came out with olives, not too big a deal though. Third, after an hour wait for my wife and I’s food, I asked the waitress if they could just bag up our food so we could just take it home. Management came to the table but did not offer any remuneration or discounted meal after all of this. And now last, as soon as we get home, I discovered my 7oz filet was cooked medium well and our shrimp were over cooked (even after I told the waitress I would like the steak medium rare). We feel the kitchen was struggling bad and likely very short handed, which says a lot about the management.

   5 star restaurant without the 5 star prices. Everyone was working everyone’s table. Excellent service. Jazz band was awesome. Drinks were yummy!

   Never a bad night when you’re at Hefner Grill! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is always great! Our family had a great dinner.
