Very attentive service. Only disappointment is the menu selection...... A La Carte menu needs more choices...

Second vist, and the food quality did not disappoint. The four-course tasting menu ($110) was delicious from start to finish. My partner had the short ribs which melted in the mouth. Only complaint is the up-charging for some of the other items available on the tasting menu, but that is not a huge point. Service is attentive, almost to a fault. No one likes to be interrupted mid-conversation to be asked if they need anything else. The ocean view is fabulous. Overall, one of the best dining experiences in Hawaii, especially the quality of the chef.

Our table was on the Veranda, I highly recommend this over sitting inside. While you have to go inside for the buffet, it’s quieter, there is a cellist providing music, and the setting is so nice. Our server for the made to order items and drinks was very attentive and friendly, the level one would expect for the cost. The only negative was the $8 cost for coffee and soda; we were expecting around $4-5. I’ve gone to a buffet with upscale items like lobster and crab before; usually it’s over cooked or just not that great. Not the case at Hoku’s breakfast brunch. All of the food was like ordering made to order and so amazing!

Coffee, tea, or juice not included in this buffet. (Even a continental breakfast would include beverages.) Paid $7 for a tea bag replenished with hot water! The lobster and ahi musubi does not sufficiently enhance a $110 Sunday brunch buffet that lacks variety of entrees. No waffle or ice cream offered. Omelettes are offered on an Ala carte basis upon request and prepared in the kitchen.

Good food and service. It has gotten pretty pricey. Ridiculous to pay that much for a buffet and not even have free soft drinks included.

Sitting in the veranda, not in the main dining room, was the absolute best choice for Sunday brunch. There was a nice breeze, live music by a very talented cellist (aka: Love Jack), our server Shirley was amazing and so kind and attentive! The food was delicious and so many delightful options in the buffet. The lobster tail was perfectly grilled, the roast pork was perfect with the crunchy skin and moist pork belly slices. Amazing desserts, fresh fruits , variety of poke and sashimi. Hands down the best Sunday brunch I've had in a long time - the entire experience from ambience to gourmet selections!
