   This is an elegant French restaurant which offers a variety of French cuisine. For appetizers we love the crab cake and escargot’s. The Ceaser salad which is prepared at the table is delicious. Our favorite entrees are the Steak Diane Flambè which is prepared at the table, and Le Liaison Iron Gate. Do not forget to order the soufflés for dessert. They are the best we have tasted…It is definitely a special experience.

   The food was excellent! Amazing sauces, filet mignon cooked exactly as requested, super fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. Perfect service, not too fast, not too slow, didn't hover, didn't ignore. Pleasant and friendly staff, helpful recommendations when requested. Tables pretty close and sound levels pretty high. We were happy to be tucked into a corner that felt more private. With tip, $600 for four people. Pricey, about what I expected, and all together wonderful for the special occasion of our daughter's engagement.

   Just wonderful! Went there for my parents 55th wedding anniversary and they treated them like a king and queen. The food was so tasty and everybody had a great time. Thank you Iron Gate!

   We had the pleasure of celebrating our dear friend’s actual birthday tonight, March 7, 2025 at this historic gem—one of the Peninsula’s oldest fine dining establishments. It proved to be the perfect setting for a truly memorable occasion! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely Mari, the owner, whose gracious hospitality set the tone for the evening. The restaurant exudes a cozy yet elegant charm, with crisp white tablecloths adding a touch of refinement—an instant plus for me. The staff, impeccably dressed in dinner tuxedo jackets, further elevated the experience with their attentive and professional service. As for the food—simply divine! Every dish was prepared to perfection, showcasing both skill and quality ingredients. Our journey from San Francisco to Belmont was well worth it, and we left with full hearts and satisfied palates. We highly recommend this exceptional restaurant and can’t wait to return. In fact, we’re already planning to become regulars! Randy ‘O

   Flambé table-side service options for salads, entrees, and desserts. Food was amazing, service was above standards, highly recommend not only for a special occasion but go to treat yourself because you deserve it.

   Normally, my experience at Iron Gate is outstanding and leaves no detail uncovered. I patronize Iron Gate at least a few times a year. Usually, this is one of my favorite places to go for dinner. In fact, I have a long history of eating here. This experience was by far a horrible experience in comparison. The entire experience from showing up, to leaving nearly two hours later than expected left everything to be desired. We arrived almost exactly on time for our 8 pm reservation. It was visibly busy, but that's not unusual on an evening like Valentine's Day. I immediately checked in like I always do. We were told it would be about 20 minutes. After only a few minutes later, I began to see people who I *know* arrived later get seated, for over 45 minutes more I saw this happen. We were seated almost an hour after our reservation, and only because I complained 3 times. When we were finally seated, the blonde hostess told us we only had two more tables in front of us and we could have waited. I don't care if that's legitimately true, it's not your place in service to try to berate a customer for seeing unfairness happen to them. The other hostess had already told me they weren't seating by reservation, but by check-in time. So, both seem to be doing something different, having different stories. And, why would you do that to someone. We all make reservations to have a place in line and to be in and out at a certain time. This was beyond rude! The food itself was great, as always, but everything came out having taken at least twice as long as I'm used to. They over-booked the restaurant to include the additional room, but appeared to have the same number of staff working the floor. I'm not sorry to say that I expect FAR more for service and how you are treated, for the amount of money we spend there every time. I doubt I'll consider this restaurant for any other holiday. They don't seem to be able to handle it.

   We made reservations for Valentine’s well in advance; we arrived on time were promptly seated and a nice corner deuce. We enjoyed appetizers, hot spinach salad table d’hotel, fish and veal as mains, finished w made-in-house tiramisu. Excellent ambiance, food, and service. Recommend for a special night out.

    We were looking forward to a nice Valentine's dinner. We arrived on time for our 7:15 reservation. We were not seated until 7:30, understanding that the restaurant was very busy. However, no one gave us menus until I asked a bus boy about 15 min. later. Our waiter, "Joe" came over right after that and my husband ordered a cocktail. We did not place our dinner order for another 10 min., now 8:00. The cocktails and my wine did not arrive for another 10+ min. Point is that service was very slow. We felt overlooked by our waiter. I had to ask the bus boy again for the check. We did not leave until after 9 p.m.
