About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for fine wines
Restaurants in Alsace traditionally have a formal main dining room as well as a casual dining room known locally as a weinstube or brasserie. At the brasserie, diners may enjoy traditional, hearty Alsatian dishes in a warm and relaxing atmosphere. These friendly establishments are immensely popular with Alsatians and visiting them is always the best part of my trips back to Alsace. I opened Jacques' Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez François to bring the tastes and comforts of the Alsatian brasserie to Great Falls.

The food and service were both impeccable. The Roquefort salad was delicious as was the halibut served Oscar style. Highly recommend but very pricey.

We went pretty early in the evening (5:30) and the place was only medium busy. Parking was a cinch since the lot was pretty empty. We were greeted warmly and professionally. All aspects of the service were timely, explanatory, and knowledgeable. We had the truffle crepe which was delicious and for our mains we had the halibut and trout plates. Both were very good. Dessert was a souffle that was also prepared nicely. The room filled up as we had dinner and the noise got a bit louder because the tables are very close to each other but overall it was a great experience. Two adults with a starter, two mains, one dessert, and a couple creme sodas and we were all in at $200 including the tip. We will definitely be back.

Service and food outstanding, as always. The luncheon "special" is a great deal.

Once again, we had a excellent meal and our server Marlon (AKA Morgan) did a marvelous job. Danny always remembers our favorite wine and table choices. However, we continue to be disappointed in that Grand-Mere Cecile's Alsatian Bread pudding is not offered as a dessert. And unfortunately, the recipe for this is absent from any of the Chez Francois cookbooks, so we can't try to replicate at home.

A perfect late lunch, on the patio, under the trees, on gorgeous spring day with a glass of cool crisp Cremant Rose. It simply does not get better than this.
