We used to go to Jak's Grill in Issaquah all the time and loved it. Then they changed the chef a few years back, the quality of the food suffered, and we stopped going. We decided to go back to see if it had changed back enough for us to re-start supporting them and, sadly, it has not. The service was spotty, my wine order did not arrive with or prior to my dinner selection and I had to ask our server about it as he was rushing by. The ribeye I ordered had good flavor but it was gristly and fatty throughout (virtually every bite)...very disappointing. In addition, it was not to the temperature I had requested. My wife's filet was good but the vegetables were not. Deserts were decent but not enough to make up for all the other shortcomings. We remember when the restaurant used to be packed, with people shoulder to shoulder at the bar and groups of patrons waiting to be seated. At 7:30PM last night, one hour ahead of our reservation time, we were seated immediately. We wish them luck.

Thanks, Jak’s for a Merry Christmas! Our daughter completely believed Santa treated us to a nice family meal. You all rock.

As a patron of Jak's for roughly 20 years my most recent experience was very disappointing. My party of 3 arrived 11 minutes early for an 8:00 PM reservation. Shortly after 8:00 PM a table 10 feet away was made ready and sat empty while we waited. 15 minutes later we were approached and pointed to the empty table. This table was by the front door and one of the colder areas of the restaurant. Fortunately in the 15 minutes we waited to be sat after our reservation time had passed three booths had emptied. When we were pointed to the table near the front door we asked if we could be sat in one of the empty booths. Begrudgingly we were told there were none available and it would be a few more minutes. Within a couple of minutes a booth was ready and we were sat passing two other empty booths along the way. Once seated approaching 8:30 now our server did not take our order for nearly another 30 minutes. Placing our drink order took nearly 10 minutes and then another 15 passed before our food order was taken. Prior to the food arriving and after we were never asked how our meal was or if we needed any refills. We had to move all empty glasses to the edge of the table and flag down our server to get refills. Jak's can become very busy at times due to it's reputation for food and service but on this night the restaurant was full but not as busy as usual. From the time we sat down at 8:30 until we were finally served and finished around 9:45 PM most patrons had left yet we still could not get decent service. I chose Jak's for my wife's and I anniversary dinner. This included a free desert which we were served but required two attempts to correct on the bill. The team at Jak's missed every opportunity to provide the level of service they have been known for in the past. The food was very good as usual but unfortunately I don't plan to pay Jak's a visit again. There are many more choices and better options these days.

Jaks is always great! Everything is delicious but you will pay for it. But to me it’s worth it.

We’ve actually never been to Jak’s for brunch and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, the service was great. We sat in the back of the main dining room and found that the sound was a little bit louder than we would prefer. The menu has changed somewhat. We found this out because two of our party wanted steak for breakfast —and our server told us about the new menu. Sized and sides have shifted….but the stars of the show —the steaks —were prepared to perfection, outstandingly well—and we will return for that. The blackened salmon sandwich was top notch, the quinoa bowl with top sirloin (prepped “blue”) was devoured, as were the two filet and eggs brekkies.
