J.J. Foley's Cafe is located in the South End neighborhood of the city of Boston. This great family owned and operated Irish pub and restaurant, run by the Foley family, has been serving customers since it opened in 1909. Dark wood, comfortable seating and the copper ceiling maintain the classic Irish pub atmosphere. Watch the game while enjoying a pint at the bar or dine in one of J.J. Foley's comfortable tables in the dining room. The staff at J.J. Foley's prides themselves on being friendly and professional, whether that means making the perfect Manhattan or helping customers choose from the many great food options on the menu. Start with the humongous nacho platter. There are a plethora of salad, sandwich or burger options to choose from for a meal. Returning customers rave about Mr. Foley's favorite, a sirloin burger topped with egg, bacon and cheese.

Waitress was pretty rude. Almost as if we had inconvenienced her. My friend got a side car and the bartender rimmed the glass with salt instead of sugar. Home fries were way too salty.

stopped in for lunch - too hot to cook, had a delicious turkey burger with side salad and a Lighthouse Pale Ale. It was the most relaxing meal I have had in a long time. The burger was cooked exactly how I like it, was juicy and tasty. Looking forward to my return.

The former Ms. Annamarie Carroll (now married with a new name) from Wexford was a delightful waitress and very accommodating. She was particularly attentive to Oisin, my grand-son, and to my mother-in-law who is 90 years old and a bit of a challenge. The eight members of my family were excited to be at JJ Foley's Cafe and will be sure to return in the near future, perhaps to celebrate the birth of my grand-daughter! Daniel Patrick Murphy

Nice pub atmosphere. They had Pim's! The food was good. The service was good. The prices were reasonable. Seven of us had drinks (some more than one!) and a meal for under $200. We were there late afternoon. Someone told me the neighborhood might be a little sketchy at night.

Went there for brunch on Saturday without realizing they don't do brunch on Saturdays! But the staff was wonderful, they were very nice and the place was quiet around midday. Probably more of a late night spot in general, but we had a great midday experience with them.

The cold slaw was excellent - sometimes I just don't feel like french fries - the cold slaw is tangy, not runny, and goes great with a beer - excellent lunch
