The approach through mature gardens allows for beguiling peeps through the trees of the charming greystone Victorian country house, which once provided top-notch accommodation for circuit judges doing their rounds. The gardens outside the conservatory dining room are a hive of activity when evening draws on, as rabbits and even the odd fox can be spotted mooching about in search of something for dinner.
