Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Kisaku offers a delightful sushi experience with "super good and fresh" nigiri and "creative flair" at the sushi bar. It's a neighborhood gem praised for "great sushi and service every time." Though ownership changes have led to mixed reviews, many still find it a "wonderful" spot with standout dishes like Black Cod and Wallingford rolls.

Solid Neighborhood Sushi. All the favorites competently prepared. Have visited dozens of times. Never a concern about quality fish.

Food is above average in terms of quality and creativity. Service is professional and helpful. Nice relaxed neighborhood atmosphere. I just wish the bathrooms were clean and as inviting.

Not the old Kisaku. Our table, though reserved, seemed stuck out in an aisle. The service was so-so. They were "busy" said the waiter, and he was right. It was saturday night. The tempera was very good while the sushi was not outstanding. Again, it seems that a change in philosophy/ownership has occurred.

Sushi and Japanese food was excellent. We prefer our sushi to come fresh from the bar but it came on a huge platter. I recommend the server asks for the preference.

The food there has been low quality during my past couple of visits. The sushi used to be of good quality, but now it's below average, with too much rice. Seafood was not fresh and fish seems dried when it get to our table. My order took forever to come out on my last two visits. While the server was nice, they didn't check up on the customers enough. It's very disappointing. This visit will be my last visit to this place. Very disappointed cause this place was my son and I go to place for sushi. Now we need to find another place.

We sat at the sushi counter and were greeted warmly by our chef. His preparation of our nigiri and rolls was artful. The sushi selections were delicious, as was the miso soup and edamame. Save room for mochi for dessert.

This used to be the best north end sushi spot, in my opinion. Since the new owners, it’s just meh. I want to love, but it’s just not lovable anymore. Food served at the wrong temperature, service polite but sloppy, place feels less spotless and special.

This is the perfect place for good food (authentic, high quality) and a quiet, calm evening. It is perfect for kids as there are no tvs blaring so you can have a nice conversation and actually hear each other. We will be going back soon!
