"The place where New Yorkers eat"
Knickerbocker is known for its great Jazz and its 28 oz. T- Bone Steaks and is a favorite among many celebrities including F. Murray Abraham, Chris Noth and Alec Baldwin. Racheal Ray listed us in her "NYC Favorites" and has praised our Shrimp Cocktail, Creamed Spinach, and of course our T- Bone Steaks.
The word "Knickerbocker" itself, says "New York". Upon entering, you’ll know you're in the Village. Its wood paneled walls sport rare turn of the century posters and original caricatures by Al Hirschfeld. Large leather booths line the walls and brass rails accent the 100 year old marble bar, where Charles Lindbergh signed his Trans Atlantic contract.
We have survived the times by using the freshest ingredients from local markets, and offering good solid value and quality.

This is what a great neighborhood restaurant should be. Terrific menu and specials and professional engaging service. While we were seated at a table, the bar was full and seemed like its own engaged community. Lots of smiles on a snowy night. Highly recommend.

We had a great time at the restaurant. The menu was perfect. We had steak, cooked to perfection, someone else had ribs and another had Turkey pot pie. We all thought our meals were excellent. For dessert I have to say the chocolate soufflé was fantastic! The best I’ve ever had. Our waiter JT was great. The acoustics were great, we could talk to each other without a problem. We would definitely eat there again.

the steak for 3 which I've always thought was comparable to Peter Lugers was very disappointing, a bad cut, fatty and undercooked.

The place was HEAVING on a cold Friday night! We scored a tiny table for a big steak with all the trimmings. Grilled perfectly. Cocktails were superb and our waiter was really marvelous; so friendly and efficient. Wish I could recall his name.

The Knickerbocker is my favorite Greenwich Village restaurant. It is perfect every time. T-bone, filet, salmon, chicken pot pie, all of them. Chocolate soufflé is a treat. One of New York’s best steakhouses as well as a local hangout.

I am a frequent diner here and they always accommodate my special request for a booth. The food never disappoints. We had crab cakes, skirt steak, tge chicken cordon bleu special, NY style cheesecake, and lots of drinks! Fun and tasty. Stephanie, our server was primo.
