   Chef BJ is an excellent chef however the short rib papparadelle was disappointing as I thought the sauce was not a traditional ragù; the sauce was on the sweet side not a smooth sauce with shredded short rib - instead the pasta was coated in a basic sweet red sauce and slices of short rib on the side and no Parmesan cheese nor was any offered. Unfortunately service was extremely slow, we were seated at 6:35 pm and offered a cocktail which arrived at 6:55p, we received our crab cake appetizer around 7:10 pm which was ok timing & excellent. Salads arrived at 7:30pm and entree after 8:00 pm. Both the salad and crab cakes were delicious and prepared well.

   Food and service were excellent. Our waitress is super nice and understanding. The big issue was the reservation. I requested the lounge and a high chair. Neither was given or ready for us when we arrived. We asked again for the lounge seating when they gave us the dining room. When they checked, they said all tables were reserved. When we checked half way through our dinner, 4 tables were still opened in the lounge. This is very frustrating as a member and also using the online system. Requests should be honored and checked if you make people make reservations online.

   While the kitchen is being renovated dinners have consisted of reasonably priced $25/pp serve yourself buffets. The best of which is the Friday night barbecue extravaganza with multiple side salads, Mac 'n cheese, and a cobbler topped with ice cream. Chef BJ's specialty is grilled and smoked meats-sausage links, pulled pork, smoked brisket, chicken, divine ribs are the stars of the evening and IMO rival the best BBQ (my favorite dining) available all around the country, and I've made a hobby of going to the best of the best! One flaw-the coffee is VILE. La Paloma switched from Starbucks dark French roast to a mild Seattle-based Umbria brand roast which they share with the adjacent Westin Resort, possibly for consolidated purchasing reasons. The decision to do so was unwise IMO. As far as I know, the membership was never polled for an opinion (this is a private club) and I seriously question the wisdom of this decision..

   The grill outside made for an excellent meal of burgers and chicken, complimented by additional condiments and ice cream sundae inside, ably served by bartender Audrey, who further made a superior peach margarita. We hardly miss the full menu!

   Chef BJ and team outdid themselves with outstanding Italian pasta, antipasto, and panna cotta at last night's dinner at the Club, the first employing the temporary kitchen. Everything was delicious, the pasta was made and dressed to order, and the price moderate. We'll go again for the Greek night!

    The staff works hard to deliver great service. Sophia was so patient and amazing at managing a busy room with hungry customers.
