Set in a 1780 Pennsylvania Stone Farmhouse with deep windows and a warm pleasant atmosphere this is a family owned and operated restaurant that is recognized as one of the Best of Lancaster for dinner, Sunday Brunch, patio dining, wine list, atmosphere and romantic settings. Although our building is over 225 years old we update our menu daily! Change is a good thing at the Greenfield. We specialize in next day delivery of seafood while we continue to cut our own steaks. The Story of Josephine’sThe story of Josephine’s begins during our executive chef Daniel LeBoon’s childhood. At eight years old, working for his father’s catering company, Daniel discovered a passion for food. This love — and undeniable talent — saw him intern at Philadelphia’s prestigious Le Bec-Fin. He went on to work in Paris at the venerable Hotel Vernet working under the renowned chef’s Alain Solvere and Alain Ducasse. In 2004, Daniel purchased Josephine’s in Marietta and developed an extremely loyal following based on the combination of great food, great atmosphere and great hospitality. Although Josephine’s closed in 2011, the name and the experiences are fondly remembered by countless people.

    Great dining experience. The staff was so friendly and the chef was outstanding. He was a White House chef for several presidents. He brought his expertise and flare to Pennsylvania. We are from New York and are no strangers to great restaurants. This restaurant is the top of the list

    It’s worth a trip to Lancaster just to have dinner at Osteria Avanti . The dinning room is fairly small with an intimate feel. There is also a separate bar area which also serves food. The dishes are well prepared. The vegetables and meat are excellent and well prepared. The service is exceptional, attentive without being intrusive. I would highly recommend Osteria Avanti.

    Not our first rodeo here and it never disappoints. Great food, great ambiance and great service make it a worthwhile journey. Wished we lived closer to dine on a more regular basis. We toned it down a little last night with a shared Autumn Salad, Elk Osso Bucco, Four Hour Short Ribs and exquisite desserts and a double expresso. Everything was simply outstanding.
