Founded in 1934 while the country was in the throes of the Great Depression and just one year removed from the repeal of prohibition, Jimmy Kelly made a promise to himself and his diners. Simply put, he would serve a great steak, a generous portion of whiskey and insure the service was always attentive. Restaurant was very accommodating when our number of guests changed/increased at the last minute. Food was delicious and they helped to suggest options and give us information on the dishes we were unfamiliar with. Service was great as well.

As it was Valentine's day, the restaurant was very busy. There apparently some kind of issue with my reservation made through OpenTable. Fortunately, when I politely brought it to their attention, they seated us at the next available table. The entrees were good as always, service was a little slow, but again it was a very busy night. The only disappointment was dessert. My wife and I like key lime pie. What we received was of poor quality and pleated poorly. I think the server was embarrassed to serve it, as she immediately took it off or our bill without us saying a word. I will certainly go there again for entrees, but not on such a busy night.
